Covid-19 / Gathering Update

Massachusetts soon will no longer require residents to wear masks when they are outdoors in most public spaces and able to physically distance themselves from others. On Tuesday, the state also released its timeline for a full reopening of business activities by August.

This affects SoulFest in that 30% of attendees, as well as our organization, come from MA and the timeline for a full reopening is good news for future concerts! This news comes almost two weeks after New Hampshire Governor, Chris Sununu, chose not to renew the mask mandate for New Hampshire. We don’t yet know how this will relate to large gatherings, but we choose to remain hopeful.

We understand that masks can be a sensitive subject, and some may disagree with these actions; it is however important to note that the loosening of these mandates is ultimately a good sign for Soulfest as we get closer to gathering in August. As brothers and sisters in Christ, respecting each other even when we disagree is paramount for our community as we prepare to gather again. We have yet to hear from all decision-makers (state, town, county, & private business in agreement, plus capacity limitations) regarding masks for large outdoor gatherings (in August) and are unable to make an official statement, but things are looking up! We care about our community’s varying perspectives on the matter and our health as a whole. We thank you for your patience as we wait for things to develop and ask for your prayers as we prepare for various potential paths forward to a summer celebration we’ve all been waiting for!
